# Submit Leave, Vacation, and Salary Advance Requests in Houra

> Use the Houra Employee Portal to request vacation days, leave, and salary advances — and track approval status in real time without chasing HR.

Requesting time off or a salary advance used to mean hunting down your manager, filling out a paper form, and then waiting with no idea what was happening. In the Houra Employee Portal, every request is submitted digitally in under a minute, routed automatically to the right person for approval, and visible to you in real time. You can see the status of every request you've ever made — and get notified the moment something changes — all without sending a single follow-up message.

## Types of requests

The portal supports three categories of requests:

## Tracking request status

All your active and past requests are visible in the **Solicitudes / Requests** section of the portal. The home screen also shows a summary — for example, **Solicitudes: 1 activa** — so you always know if something is pending.

Each request displays one of the following statuses:

| Status                   | Meaning                                                                   |
| ------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Pendiente / Pending** | Your request has been submitted and is awaiting review. |
| **Aprobado / Approved** | Your manager or HR has approved the request. |
| **Rechazado / Declined** | The request was not approved. You'll receive a notification with details. |

<Tip>
  Enable push notifications in the portal so you're alerted the moment your request status changes — no need to keep checking manually.
</Tip>

## What happens after approval

* **Vacation and leave** — Your approved time off is reflected in your schedule automatically. Your vacation balance updates to show the remaining days.
* **Salary advance** — Your HR or payroll administrator processes the advance according to your company's payment schedule. You'll receive a notification when it's been processed.

<Note>
  Your manager or HR administrator is responsible for approving all requests. If a request has been pending for longer than expected, you can follow up with them directly — but you don't need to resubmit unless they ask you to.
</Note>
