# Clock In, Clock Out, and Track Your Attendance in Houra

> Employees can clock in and out with one tap in the Houra Portal, or by scanning a QR code at their workplace — and view their full attendance history.

Keeping your attendance accurate shouldn't require a queue at a time-clock terminal or a form filled out after the fact. In the Houra Employee Portal, you can record your entry and exit with a single tap from your phone — or by scanning a QR code posted at your workplace. Your attendance data is saved instantly, stays visible in your history, and feeds directly into payroll so nothing falls through the cracks.

## Clocking in from the home screen

As soon as you open the portal, your current shift and clock-in button are front and center.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Employee Portal">
    Launch Houra from your home screen or browser. You'll see your name, your scheduled shift for the day (e.g. **08:00–16:00**), and a prominent **Fichar entrada / Clock In** button.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Tap Clock In">
    Tap the button once. Houra records your start time immediately. The display updates to show how many hours you've worked so far today.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Clock out when your shift ends">

</Steps>

<Tip>
  Your home screen always shows your running work time for the day — for example, **Hoy trabajaste: 04:32** — so you can keep an eye on your hours without digging through menus.
</Tip>

## Clocking in with a QR code

Some workplaces use QR codes posted at the entrance or workstation so that your location is automatically verified when you clock in.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the QR code at your location">
    Look for the Houra QR code posted at your workplace entrance, reception desk, or designated clock-in station.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the QR scanner in the portal">
    In the Employee Portal, tap the **QR** icon on the home screen or in the navigation menu.

  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  QR clock-in must be enabled by your HR administrator. If the QR icon doesn't appear in your portal, your company may use tap-only clock-in instead.
</Note>

## Viewing your attendance history

You can review every clock-in and clock-out record you've made — useful for spotting gaps or preparing for a conversation with HR.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Attendance">
    From the portal's main menu, tap **Asistencia / Attendance**.
  </Step>

  </Step>

  <Step title="Filter by date range">
    Use the date picker at the top to narrow your view to a specific week or month.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Forgot to clock out?

It happens. If you leave work without tapping **Clock Out**, your shift will remain open in the system.

<Warning>
  An unclosed shift can cause your hours to be calculated incorrectly for payroll. If you forget to clock out, contact your manager or HR administrator as soon as possible so they can correct the record.
</Warning>

## How your clock-in data connects to payroll

Every clock-in and clock-out you record in the portal is automatically available to your HR team and payroll administrator in the Houra back office. You don't need to submit a separate timesheet — your attendance data flows directly into the payroll calculation for your pay period.

<Info>
  If you notice a discrepancy between your recorded hours and your payslip, reach out to your HR administrator. They can review your attendance history and correct any errors before the next payroll run.
